Guarantee and Confidentiality

From the outset, it has been vitally important for the APB to provide the e-puertobilbao platform with sufficient security mechanisms as well as technical and procedural ones for all agents involved to be able to operate in absolute confidence.

APB understands that confidence in the system constitutes an important part of the success of the platform. And this confidence should favour all those involved in the platform – users, APB and subcontracted technicians.

The security of an e-business platform consists of four basic elements:

• Information confidentiality: only authorised persons can access the information.

• Integrity: Processes carried out with the data should be verified in such a way that it can be guaranteed that data are not altered during processing. In any case, a direct copy of entry data should exist for verification.

• Availability: information availability is assured so that users can gain access to it whenever needed.

• Security management: Good management of all the above conditions, consists of carrying out the necessary tasks to guarantee the security levels demanded in an organisation, within the framework of an information system management security (ISMS) plan in which all security measures are defined and continually revised and improved.
