What is e-puertobilbao?
e-puertobilbao is an electronic commerce platform whose aim is to maximize communications and facilitate interaction among the different companies in the Bilbao maritime-port community. Its fundamental goal is to achieve greater speed and efficiency in the passage of vessels and goods through the Port, in such a way that companies and Port as a whole will be more competitive.
Its philosophy is based on five underlying principles:
Simplification: to present users with only one communication interface.
Re-use: users of the system only have to send their data once, and later, these can be re-used, updated or completed.
Uniformity: based on format standardization and the use of internationally agreed standards (EDIFACT/XML).
Electronic automation: that is, paper-free communication, which means speed, reliability and availability of information at all times.
Transparency: traceability and transactions control.
