This “e-puertobilbao” platform service makes a telematics channel available to its community of users that provides a medium for processing the coordination of inspections at the Border Inspection Post
Here the focus is on the “e-puertobilbao” platform providing a tool that allows effective coordination of inspection operations to be carried out by bringing together around one unified procedure the different entities and public administrations competent in establishing such technical goods checks.

The service is aimed at customs and forwarding agents and integrates into one procedure only, the Inspection Services (Foreign Health, Phytosanitary and Soivre), Customs at Bilbao and the Border Inspection Post administration by managing traffic of information among these agents in a totally transparent way. Likewise, it channels the information towards the rest of the agents involved in inspection operations such as, terminals (stevedoring companies), and haulage companies, thus coordinating inspection operations.
The service is aimed at the coordinación del posicionamiento of containers at the inspection place. To achieve this, the first premise is that all intervening, necessary and indispensable agents for inspection to be carried out should be available on the date and at the chosen time at the place of inspection.

This service is a complemento básico to the new Border Inspection Post facilities at the Port of Bilbao.
Besides the benefits the “e-puertobilbao” platform has contributed through the use of telematics means - like the elimination of paper, or processing online - this service contributes a clear added value to the operation: the introduction of a model based on the daily planning of inspection operations has brought about the optimization of the same, as well as a reducción de los tiempos. In addition greater transparency in the whole process is provided.
