Mr\u00a0<strong>Txaber Goiri, the Manager for Competiveness at the Bilbao Port Authority<\/strong>, took part as the\u00a0<strong>Chairman of the Intermodal and Logistics Committee of the ESPO (European Sea Ports Association)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this respect, the\u00a0<strong>ESPO<\/strong>\u00a0considers it necessary to maintain the existing systems and portals as entry points to national one-stop windows \u201csince these systems are, in fact, already serving as one-stop windows at the local level for our port community customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0<strong>Goiri<\/strong>, in ports like Bilbao, where\u00a0<strong>the e-puerto telematics platform<\/strong>\u00a0is already in existence, we must insist on the need to make minimum changes because our customers need the stability in order to centre on their business., and even more so bearing in mind that the e-maritime aim is to simplify and facilitate maritime trade and transport.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;texto-justificado&#8221;]The two-day conference was inaugurated by Mattias Ruete, the Director General of the\u00a0<strong>EU\u2019s DG MOVE<\/strong>. On the first day, the conference focused on the history and the definition of the e-maritime initiative scenario. At present, there are two projects under way: one for the implementation of\u00a0<strong>directive 2010\/65<\/strong>concerning the formalities demanded from vessels on port arrival or departure at or from member states; the other pertains to the developments taking place in the SafeSeanet improvements.<\/p>\n<p>On the second day, three working groups were organised on technology use to facilitate port operations and services for vessels and cargoes. Representatives from the ports of\u00a0<strong>Hamburg<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Bremen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Rotterdam<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Zeebrugge<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Barcelona<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Valencia<\/strong>\u00a0took part, some of whom presented their\u00a0<strong>telematics systems (Port Community Systems)<\/strong>\u00a0and their value-added services offer.
