This e-puertobilbao platform service makes a telematics channel available to its community of users that provides a medium for the unified processing procedure for dangerous goods declarations in accordance with Royal Decrees145/1989 and 210/2004.
Here the focus is on the e-puertobilbao platform providing a one-stop telematics window service that allows users, in a remote and unified manner, to carry out the administrative processing required for the declaration of dangerous goods in passage in the Port of Bilbao.
The service is aimed at shipping agents and integrates the Port Authority of Bilbao and the Harbour Master (Merchant Navy) at Bilbao into one procedure only, by managing traffic of information among these agents in a totally transparent way.
Likewise, it provides a complete response to the whole dangerous goods operational cycle in their passage through the Port, by covering the presentation of the documentation required by the different administrations involved, processing of authorizations, sending notifications to terminals and transport managers, generating the daily bulletin of entries and departures of the goods and control of time goods are staying in port area.
This service contributes clear user advantages whose origin is in the one-stop telematics window, which has allowed procedures simplification and the establishment of a new digital communication medium, thus eliminating paper.
Nonetheless, it offers other particular advantages that are highly valued by the user community such as the medium of documental information processing (most abundant in processing dangerous goods declarations), online generation and resolution of authorisations or vessel self-clearance.
